Ayako Takase
Raised in both Japan and the US, Ayako Takase’s life has been a mix of east and west. This diverse upbringing provides her with a unique cultural sensitivity and an honest, elegant sense of form and materials. Prior to her role as studio director and co-founder of Kaiju Studios, Ayako worked with Ayse Birsel at Olive 1:1. She holds a BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design. Likes: fine food & cooking, snowboarding in Snowbird, motorcycling, tennis and the studio cats, Kilo & Graham
Cutter Hutton
With experience in product, graphic, and interaction design, Cutter Hutton brings a multidisciplinary background to his role as co-director of Kaiju Studios. Prior to co-founding Kaiju Studios, Cutter was a designer and multimedia producer at ZEFER and an independent industrial design consultant. Cutter attended the Rhode Island School of Design, where he also teaches in the industrial design department. Likes: coffee and brownies, motorcycles, mowing the lawn and things considered nerdy
Christopher Specce
As lead designer, Christopher Specce is engaged with all aspects of design at Kaiju Studios. Chris has an extraordinary attention to detail and dedication to getting things just-right. Prior to joining the studio, he worked for the American Museum of Natural History and at Birsel + Seck. Chris studied industrial design at the Rhode Island School of Design, where he now teaches in the Furniture Design department. Likes: collections, pizza and cycling
Phil Karl
Philip Karl's passion is developing design concepts into real products - be it in the model shop, on screen or with pencil and paper. He brings an extensive manufacturing knowledge and creative problem solving to our clients needs. Prior to working with Kaiju studios, Phil was a Senior Designer with Samsonite Corporation, and Design Director at Delta Cycle Corporation.  Phil graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design. Likes: cycling, snow sports, tools, pancakes and ping-pong
