Pinewood Derby
To reflect the firm’s leadership in design, Herman Miller asked Kaiju Studios to design two Pinewood Derby cars for the IDSA conference races. Our team of Kaiju designers and Herman Miller engineers developed the #3 and #9 cars, stunning examples of form and engineering. The #3 car, constructed of polished aluminum and mahogany with a tungsten core, reflects the icons of classic Herman Miller design. The #9 car bends the rules with a gravity powered turbo to gain extra acceleration. The #9 earned 1st Place and the People's Choice Awards in the IDSA races.
